A R U M consists of Basotho indigenous instrument player and percussionist Mpho Molikeng, cellist and UX designer Nicola du Toit, violinist, composer and producer Galina Juritz, vocalist Joyce Moholoagae, jazz guitarist Keenan Ahrends, and violinist and composer Matthijs van Dijk. Together, this fluid ensemble of players and creators aim to perform original and contemporary music drawing upon new classical music, electronic music, indigenous and experimental music. Their focus is on creating new music derived from the indigenous knowledge and creativity in southern African indigenous music. This particular collaboration features the incredible Mozambican dancer and choreographer Pak Ndjamena. Many thanks to Jeff Stacey for his photographic contributions.
